Prof. Britt Wildemann, Head of Experimental Trauma Surgery at Jena University Hospital, accepted in representation for her doctoral student Viviane Ständert the DGOOC (German Society for Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery) award for clinical orthopedic research 2022 at the German Congress for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery (DKOU 2022). The prize was awarded for the joint publication "Antibiotic-loaded amphora-shaped pores on a titanium implant surface enhance osteointegration and prevent infections", published in Bioactive Materials 2021. The publication is the result of a cooperation project with the Fraunhofer IFAM and part of a BMBF-funded project (VIP+ AntiSelectInfect).
