Workshop AI and applied statistics
Large language models and AI tools for everyday scientific life
Dr. Christian Leiterer, Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena
The seminar gives a deep insight into the functionality and possibilities that AI language models such as ChatGPT offer in everyday scientific life. AI language models are a tool and can support not only research and information retrieval, but also the formulation, revision and perfection of scientific texts or research proposals. Learn how to optimise the use of this tool and other AI tools for your work.
The seminar will first cover the basics of how AI language models such as ChatGPT work. Practical exercises and case studies are an integral part of the seminar. Participants will apply what they have learned in practical exercises and analyse and discuss case studies in which AI language models have been used successfully.
The seminar is designed to help participants use AI tools efficiently and improve the quality of their work through the targeted use of language models.
It is therefore aimed at scientists, doctoral candidates and students who want to improve their writing skills and effectively integrate modern technologies into their work.
Following the seminar, there will be an opportunity to discuss technical, ethical or legal issues relating to the topic.
