From 15 January to 16 February 2024 I was able to spend a four-week research stay at the Charité in Berlin with Prof. Andrej Trampuz and his team, including Dr. Svetlana Karbysheva, Rima Fanaeri Pirlar and Ning Yu. During this time, I participated in the investigation of phage proliferation, biofilm formation using beads, microcalorimetry and the interaction dynamics between bacteriophages and antibiotics against bacterial films. I also attended a workshop focused on biomaterial infections at the Pro-implant foundation as well as a workshop on antimicrobial resistance organized by the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und Prüfung (BAM).

This research visit provided me valuable insights and potential avenues for my future investigations in the field of antimicrobial research and biomaterial infections. I was particularly impressed by the Charité's prestigious and historic working environment and it was a privilege and a great experience to work with Prof. Andrej Trampuz and his team.
Thank you very much for the great time there!
